Finally! After months~

We gotta meet up with WEILI, the busy woman! After several months, we managed to catch up with her and dined at Ajisen lot 1. First, we updated each other on our current status.

Then, we recapped of how we behaved, what we did in secondary. This is when I realised we have all grown. Next year will be our 21st, thus we have got to be responsible for ourselves and what we do.

In SSG, there are ones who are attached, working, studying.. It is really hard to get the same time off together. It is unlike those days in Fajar where we get to see each other everyday.

There are things that I've regretted:

1. There are times that I did not cherish the times together with SSG. Fighting over trivial matters and distanced myself from the gang.

2. I did not give the basic trust to Meng Hwee. For months, we were in cold wars and I even suspected her of being cunning after hearing all the gossips from a third party.

But thanks God, after all these we are bonded closer together. It seems that God planned all these to put our friendship to a test. From these, we understand one another better and cherish this gang more than ever. Therefore I am proud to say..

WE PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS! Praise the Lord~

This is backdated to 10 October 2009.

I went for a 1 day trip to Malaysia Yong Peng with the volunteers at Mei Ling. We all gathered at 630am on a cooling Saturday. There were 16 of us excluding the 'Lions' from Lions Club.

Before the trip, the relationship between the volunteers and I is good. But after the trip, we are one stronger than before to the extend that I can address some by Grandpa and Godma.

Work has officially began for me. I am currently attached to this organisation known as, Lions Befrienders Association Singapore. You might be wondering what is this organisation about. I will give you a brief description of this organisation.

Lions Befrienders(LB) is a welfare organisation that cares for and assists the elderly in coping with the demands of daily living.

I am situated in 1 of the centre located at Mei Ling Street. This is a place where you say it's homely. You can picture it as a 1 big family. You can see the sincerity and feel the warmth from volunteers, residents and staffs. Oh, volunteers and residents are mostly aged 50yrs and above. Can you believe it if I say they are as active as the youths? I wouldn't have believed it till I see it for my own.

This is the last day for my first week. Though there is a lot of administrative work to do in future which I have zero passion in, still this is not a 100% desk bound job. There are outings and excursion, home visiting and many other activities which I would be engaging in.

Every Thurs, there is Karaoke session which serves as an entertainment when I am frustrated and at the urge of pulling out all my hairs. Besides that, there is movie screening as well. On every other weekdays, there are other activities going on too. In this case, my hairs are saved from misery.

Having visited a couple of the elderly, it is really heartbreaking and I begin to ask myself what can I do for them? Am I being too emotional and taking things too personal? Or even to the extend on asking myself if this is the right place/job for me.

Nevertheless, it indeed caused great impact on me mentally, physically as well as my attitude and emotions.
